Today's Focus: Maybelline Dream Pure BB Cream.
Hi, it's been a while since I last posted that is beauty-related. Today I'm here to tell you about this product that I've been using on most of the days, and have been using it instead of foundation.
It's the Maybelline Dream Pure BB Cream.
Now that it's winter here, my skin gets really dry so my skin have been breaking out like mad. And using foundation has seemed to make it worse probably because it block my pores due to the high coverage it has so I've been giving that a break at the moment cause I want my acne to go away.
So I know there has been a lot of review about this product around, so I went to the drugstore and had a look at it and decided to get it.
Why?
Because of two reasons:
a) It has Salicyclic acid AND SPF 15.
b) A BB cream is a lighter coverage and easier to apply than foundation.
It was £6.99 and it comes in 30mL.
Here's how it looks on my skin: That is just one layer applied.
Verdict:
- It is low coverage but you can build it up to a medium coverage.
- Definitely evens out skin tone
- Make sure you get your colour match right - I'm in Medium this time.
- Definitely does not make me break out more.
- 30ml last a long time - I've been using it everyday and it's still not halved yet.
- Does not oxidize on my skin [at least on me]
- Great for everyday wear.
- With a primer underneath, it lasts all day.
- With the SPF 15 in there, it's two in 1. Enough for everyday wear too. [It's Titanium Dioxide not Octocrylene - just to keep note of if you're sensitive to SPF]
- Still dries my skin out a bit so it's not the most moisturising formulation but its good if you're an oily/combination skin.
Rating : 7/10.
If you need something that is easy to put on every morning, easy to blend, not much hassle and still provide sufficient coverage and benefits - definitely worth a try.
On my personal note on this : It's great for everyday, but use a thick moisturizer under it as it dries out your skin cause of the added salicylic acid but it does make you look matte after application so that's good. That's why I've been using it everyday for work.
Hope that review helps, if you need more questions about it, leave it in the comments and I'll help you out.
See ya,
G.
