Empties of the Month (January 2015)
Helloo, it's a bit late but it's not TOO late for my January Empties post.
I have a lot of 'trash' this month so let's get cracking. Get ready to feast your eyes on pictures!
(1) Instant Soup (Ainsley Harriott Szechuan Soup) - First timer, easy to travel with, great alternative to caffeine if you're looking for something to warm you up during the winter. He has a lot of different flavours available for you to try so check that out!
(2) More instant soup! (Cup A Soup - Asparagus) - Typical everywhere-you-see classic cup soup. This wasn't too bad, make sure you don't add too much water. ;)
(3) Cold & Flu Defence - Great for the winter months to prevent cold. Tbh, I didn't see any difference to me, I still got the cold but then again, it differs between individuals. It might work for you :) It's a nasal spray and you use it at least twice a day to help. I would still personally stick to Vitamin C.
(4) Salted Caramel Twinnings Green Tea - This came out in Nov/Dec time and when I saw someone recommended this on Youtube, I saw it in my local tescos and got it right away. Tbh, slightly dissapointed. Thought the flavour would be a lot stronger but it was more like a green tea with Salted Caramel odour (wasn't much taste difference compared to an ordinary Green Tea).
(5)VitaBiotics Cold Liver Oil with Omega-3 : Daily supplement, fish oils..good for you and general health. I personally am brand oriented although I know they have the same amount & ingredients but I do tend to trust brands more when it comes to medication or supplements, that's just personal preference.
(6) Nivea Creme Coconut Shower Cream - My shower scent crave went from extreme Coconut to being more uplifting zesty floral scents. Finished this up, loved it. Got it from Poundland - cheap and easy to use, reliable and leaves your skin soft and moisturized.
(7) Soap & Glory Sugar Crush Body Buttercream - Got this as a splurge back in November as my first time ever trying out Soap & Glory body lotions, liked the scent of it. In terms of moisture, it lasted for like 6 hours? Then I felt like I needed to re-apply cause my skin started to feel dry oncemore. Didn't really lived up my 'winter moisture test'. Would rate it 7/10. Wouldn't repurchase cause I still prefer the Body Shop range of lotions as a better body moisturiser.
(8) Dove Purely Pampering with Coconut and Jasmine Petals - Told you above I'm slowly switching towards 'spring' scents ;) Love Dove Shower Cream btw. Smells great, love the cream texture, moisturise your skin real nice but this bottle only lasted me like 2 weeks - finished real quick.
(9) Herbal Essences Bee Strong Shampoo - Smells good, makes my hair thicker too but in terms of strength, I did notice less hair breakage on mine but it still breaks (if you get what I mean). Overall, not a bad shampoo if you need something that smells great and doesn't dry out your hair during the cold months.
(10) La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo - This tube has lasted me for one year at least and finally I'm finished with it. I love this product. Really helps my acne, tone it down and prevents it. It's a serum texture which absorbs quickly into the skin - works magically overnight. The downside for me is the price. It's 15.50 pounds so keep your eyes out to when it goes on sale :) Definitely WORTH it.
(11) Palmers Cocoa Butter Eventone Dark Spot Corrector - A night serum I used to help with hyperpigmentation and acne scars, does make my skin feel more hydrated, supply and soft. But it didn't fade much of my scars away. Probably will need to use for a period of time in order to see a difference (a tube wouuldn't be enough). It's 9.99 pounds so it's not bad a serum. I would repurchase it but I'm currently trying out other serums.
(12) Clean & Clear Blackhead Clearing Cleanser - A toner to help cleanse my face after washing it, to help clear out blackheads by reducing the pore size. Does what it says and have no complains about it. It's affordable and available everywhere.
(13) Elemis Fresh Skin Tired Eyes Gel - Got this from TkMaxx, it's my FIRST Elemis product and it's a nice clear gel texture for your eyes - real hydrating and uplifting as it gives this cooling effect on your eyes. Downside of it is, I needed a more thicker cream-like consistency because of the winter dry months but during summer, this would be perfect - light and refreshing.
(14) Clearasil Anti-Blemish Treatment Cream - This cream took me ages to finish it. Glad I did, tbh it didn't work. I didn't like the cream texture, made my skin oily and it didn't clear out my spots no matter how much I put on at a time. Wouldn't get another tube simply because it didn't work for me at all.
(15) Loreal Skin Perfection Miracle Cleansing Oil - My first ever cleansing oil to remove make up and impurities. It's my 2nd bottle, first time round I loved it because it took everything off and made me skin felt soft after without any greasy residue but during this 2nd bottle use, I felt like it wasn't doing such a great job as the one I previou had (I know, it's quite impossible but it's true) . Waterproof mascara was harder to take off eventhough I tried to gently rub my eyelids, I still had to use eye make-up remover to get it all off after using this. Wouldn't get another bottle = /
(16) Colgate Toothpaste - Simple, famous and cult go-to toothpaste. Just another general all-rounder toothpaste. The thing I have with Colgate is how it leaves a 'stripped' feeling on my teeth after brushing and it does with all colgates so I might need to switch brands to see whether they do that to me too :)
(17) Cuticura Antibacterial Hand Gel - Cause I go through these like nobody's business. It's good to keep your hands clean cause just imagine the GERMS.. oh the GERMSS on your hands, fingers, nails!!!!
(18) Batiste Noursh & Enrich Dry Shampoo - Got the big can, finally finished it. I prefer the 'Blush' scent rather than this. Found that it wasn't very absorbing compared to that 'blush' one. Does leave a white cast on my hair each time, so I need to brush it off or massage it into my scalp upon application but still, batiste is a good brand for dry shampoos to be honest.
(19) Hask Argan Oil - Got this little baby in Primark, a thick texture oil which you can massage onto your tips of your hair to give a sleek, shiny, tamed look. This small bottle lasted me for 2 months and I'm pleased to say, I would repurchase it. I find other brand hair oils are too 'watery' and it doesn't adhere to my hair (it loses its effects after a few hours) but this doesn't. Definitely recommend.
(20) Lush Grease Lightning - ALMOST forgot about this! :P This product has been with me for at least 1.5 years, it was time to go! Packagings all gone now but it's a spot treatment in gel form for acne. Friend recommended me so I tried it out then. Worked for a while, then it just stopped and it tightens your skin so don't apply all over your face. I prefer the La Roche-Posay as it works faster. This one, took a while for me to notice any difference in my acne size. =/ . I wouldn't buy it again cause I would rather spend my money on Effaclar Duo.
