Benefits of having make up brushes (Is it worth getting them?)
Helloo, hope you are all doing fine.
Today's post will be about make up brushes.
I've had this dilemma before I started buying brushes , I always questioned whether it was worth because of these reasons:
a) It's expensive
b) It's known to be only used by professionals not for everyday users
c) Maintenance is a pain
d) It's EXPENSIVE.
Like seriously, once you start buying one, you can't stop buying till you get the whole set (Admit it!).
So yeah, here's my clarification on why it's worth getting.
- Flawless finish : Never understood that till I got my first brush (Real Techniques Stippling Foundation Brush) and gosh I saw the differences, it made me love applying foundation.
- Hygienic : Obviously using your hands sometimes is great but also a higher risk of getting dirt onto your pores and your face leading to break outs.
- Even application : Using fingers , with different pressure on each area makes the application uneven because you can't control the thickness , however using a brush whether it's eye shadow, powder, blusher or foundation - it's a lot easier to control the heaviness of the make up on your skin by layering.
- Get a professional feel : If you can afford, it's sort of a pamper routine to apply make up with your brushes, it's part of a collection. For those who loves make up, you'll understand me.
- Able to do more looks : This works for eyeshadow brushes, like a blending brush allows you blend evenly and beautifully which gives you an advantage at doing smoky eyes. =)
- You don't want to use your hands for the whole make up application : If you can't get the whole set of brushes, get one that you can multitask with - it'll make a difference to your make up application.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I know it's EXPENSIVE, but if you're an everyday user, you don't really need high end brushes unless you prefer great quality but otherwise, for general use, the most basic brushes do well too! However there are some I would recommend to splurge on simply because they are worth the money.
For example :
* A foundation brush --- Real Techniques Stippling Brush or Real Techniques Face Brush [ A brush that is compact, soft and blend easily - look into the fibers ]
* Blush Brush --- Look out for those that has a tapered end , it allows you to do your blush & bronzer hence 2 in 1!
* Blending eyeshadow brush --- You can't expect to blend with your fingers to get even blending, so investing in a proper shape blending brush would do your eyes wonders.

So at the end of the day, if you're newly into make up, try out affordable brushes first to get a glimpse of how make up brushes can be used and to familiarize yourself with the application of it before getting your hands into more expensive brushes.
Last of all, if you do decide to get make up brushes, don't forget to clean them too!
Dirty brushes only packs on more bacteria onto your face, so please clean them at least once every month.
Hope this post helps,
G.
