Travel : Difference between being on holiday & staying permanently in a new city

Hi everyone, I've just been thinking about what its like being on holiday in a place and love it so much and what its like to stay in that city itself for a period of time.

I never knew how different those two could be until I experience them.
I mean, don't get me wrong, I like being where I am.. but the two major things I miss the most is:
a) HOME
b) FAMILY.

The two things that will make you feel whole .
However, at my age, I do still enjoy travelling/ exploring and just learning new culture, and adapting to new things in life. So without any hesitation, here are some random pictures I took from random places, all over the UK.

Whether it's the North or the South, it's pretty beautiful having to experience the difference, the language (accents) , different beliefs, different foods, different way of life basically.
Being here on holiday, you don't get too see as much cause you normally see the surface of the  place and that's about it.

WHEREAS staying in that city/town for a longer period (let's say 3 months or more) , you'll start to form a routine, know the locals, and basically be familiar with the place.
So being on holiday & staying permanently is quite a vast difference.

I learnt that, being on holiday in a city anywhere in the world and 'wanting to stay there forever' is completely different than actually staying there.
Don't forget when you're someone foreign to a new country or a city, people will judge you, and will make you feel like an outsider which is somewhat true, so just be aware that it's something you'll have to deal with on a daily basis.

Other than that, if you have a great social life and support around you, it makes staying in a new place a lot easier.

As for me, I've always liked coming to the UK for holiday & travelling around seeing new places, but when it comes to staying here permanently, and after so many years of doing so here, I gotta say I do miss home , the way of life there and my family a lot.
It's a new lifestyle over here but if you're open to it like I am, everything becomes something new everyday. =]

Just got to look out for more opportunities the world can offer - the world is unlimited and its up to you to grab it.

So come join me cause if you're like me living in another country , exploring and working at the same time , you aint alone. =] The one thing that never fails is knowing with every sunset, I've seen more parts of the world each day compared to if I was back home. =)

So I hope this post had made you think twice on being on holiday & staying longer in a particular city/country. there's a lot on the plate to consider, but you just have to make sure that you personally want this and not let others influence your decision because it's you that will live with this decision that you make. =)

Good luck and wish you all the best,
G.
