Beauty : September Empties 2015
Helloo welcome back.
Sorry for the delay a lil bit - was busy hanging out with friends and family for the past few days but I'm back.
As the title says, today's post is all about products I've used up and I've got once again, a whole range of them. (Lets get to it) .
First stop: Beauty PRODUCTS.
- Nivea Double Effect Make Up Remover : £3.89 : A double suspension with an oil & make up remover layer known to be effective for even removing waterproof eye make up. [My experience: Not very effective, produces uneven layers of oil & make up remover which makes it harder to remove any traces of eye make up, had to go in a couple of times even after holding for 10 seconds before wiping it down] {Rating : 7/10}
- Maybelline Dream Pure BB Cream Oily skin : £6.99 : Claim to blurs imperfections, moisturize, and provide a light - medium weight coverage and it has SPF 15. [ My experience : I use it more times than I use my foundation because I find it lighter and I prefer it on days where I dont feel like caking on the foundation, it helps my blemish skin and it provides sufficient coverage that I require on a daily basis, colour match was pretty great too - I prefer this over the Garnier BB cream personally] {Rating: 8/10}
- Body Shop Camomile Cleansing Oil : £11.00 : A oil-based cleanser that helps remove all traces of make up while making your skin soft & clean after. [ My experience : A great cleansing oil definitely, a nice product to remove your day's worth of make up, is gentle for sensitive skin & it doesn't make your skin feel oily or dehydrated after & a bottle lasts about approximately 2 months ] {Rating: 8/10}
- Rimmel Stay Matte Powder : £3.99 : A great mattifying powder that provides a smooth complexion and matte finish that lasts throughout the day. [ My experience : A light weight powder that does not cake up your face after foundation & its mattify-ing properties does lasts to at least 4 hours from what I noticed & it doesn't clog my pores which is what I love about it . FYI, mine shattered after it dropped - so sad] {Rating: 8/10}
- Collection Eyeshadow Pencils : £3.19 : Velvet soft eyeshadow pencils that's waterproof. [ My experience : The quality depends on the shades - hit / miss product. This pink dried & flaked upon application after a month, but I have a bronze shade that is still going strong. It blends easily but only for a seconds before it sets . Great for an eyeshadow base. {Rating : 6/10}
- Rimmel East End Snob Lip Pencil : £3.99 : Smooth finish lipliner that lasts on your lips, holds lipstick in place and prevent bleeding of any lip colour. [ My experience: A classic everyday lip color that you can either use as a pencil to line your lips or as a lipstick, is creamy enough to be used as a lipstick & it makes your lipcolour stay on for much longer ] {Rating : 8/10}
7. Soap & Glory Peaches & Clean Cleasing Milk : £5.33 : Formulated for clogged pores to help refresh & soften skin on a daily basis. [ My Experience : Love the scent, a great texture to use as a daily cleanser, it softens the skin leaving your skin feeling clean & smooth after ] {Rating: 8/10}
8. Good Things Deep Pore Toner : £4.99 : An astringent toner to help reduce pore size & control sebum excretion. [ My experience : A fruity scent toner, that helps remove any impurities. Does contain alcohol but does not dry out my skin like any other alcohol toner does. Quite refreshing after application] {Rating : 7/10}
9. Clearasil Rapid Action Treatment Cream : £4.26 : A acne spot cream that helps reduce pimple size within 4 hours. [ My Experience : A cream that has salicylic acid to help acne, is pretty effective at reducing them at a quick rate. However if I use it during the day/under make up, it does create a dry patch so I tend to use it at night before going to bed.] {Rating : 6/10}
10. La Roche Posay Effaclar A.I : £ 7.12 : A cream that helps with imperfections by increasing renewal rate & bacterial growth on skin. It also claims to prevent scars due to acne. [My experience : Isn't as effective as other targetted breakout preparations, it helps but it takes time. I personally prefer the Efflaclar Duo compared to the A.I formula simply because it works quicker] {Rating : 5/10}
11. Botanics All Bright Eye Roll On : £4.49 : Claim to reduce dark circles & puffiness to the eyes. [My experience : Refreshes the eye area as a rollerball usually do. In terms of puffiness & dark circles, no effect noticed with one bottle used. Might have tried more treatments before it actually works. Doesn't moisturize the area much because it applies as a thin gel layer.] {Rating: 6/10}
13. Imperial Leather Lime & Grapefruit Shower Foam : £3.15 : A nice lather that provides moisturization, uplifting scent & clean feel to your skin. [My Experience : Good lather , can be used a shaving gel too cause of the thickness of lather produced. Great scent and definitely makes your skin soft (can feel the difference). However, this particular one, the pump wasn't working well so it was a let down.] {Rating: 6/10}
14. Body Shop Blueberry Shower Gel : £4.00 : Nice scent shower gel & good level of moisture. [My experience: Love the blueberry scent, finished it really quick (lasted me for about 2 weeks?) , great for everyday use and the body shop range has plenty of scents to choose from.] {Rating : 7/10}
15. Oral B Complete Extra Fresh Toothpaste : £3.99 : Refreshing, whitening toothpaste that help prevents cavities & keeps your breath fresh for longer. [My experience: I like the amount of foam produced, is minty but not too minty which I love & it leaves my teeth whiten and clean without the 'stripped' feeling.] {Rating: 8/10}
16. Colgate Plax Mouthwash : £3.50 : An antibacterial mouthwash that helps freshen breath & kill bacteria that produces plague. [My experience: It's a mediocre mouthwash, great for everyday use and it does not strip your enamel upon time and it prevent stains from forming too which I like .] {Rating: 7/10}
17. Nivea Firming Body Lotion : £4.53 : Help improve firmness & nourishing the skin as a daily use moisturizer. [My experience : In terms of firming the skin, it did some action but I wouldn't rely on it completely. Smells pretty good too and the texture is pretty light, so as a daily moisturizer that has firming benefits to your skin & smells great, why not? ] {Rating: 8/10}
18. Veet Wax Strips Sensitive Skin : £6.30 : Easy to use strips that is portable and can be used easily. [My experience: It was my first time using wax instead of shaving - tried it out on my underarms and it was a life changer for me. It's painful but it's bearable. Definitely worth the effect compared to shaving. The downside is, having to wipe the wax off completely after , otherwise it'll leave your skin feeling sticky (so not great for 'instant' or 'grab n go' kind of product] {Rating: 7/10}
19. Sure Cotton Deodorant : £1.99 : A portable can that can be carried around everywhere with extra long wearing hours. [My Experience: It smells alright but I wouldn't say the antiperspirant effect lasts for 48 hours & the bottle doesn't last as long as I thought it would.] {Rating: 6/10}
20. Colab Dry Shampoo London : £1.99 : Created by Youtube star Ruth Crilly that provides a clean fresh scent and texture to your hair without any white residue. [My experience : No white marks whatsoever, works alright as a dry shampoo, does a great job at freshening up the hair but in terms of helping with oil reduction, the effect doesn't last very long so you do need to constantly touch up but even so, I love the scents that she has.] {Rating: 8/10}
21. Dove Caring Shower Cream : Great shower cream to moisturize and leave your skin feeling soft & soothe. [My Experience: Great for everyday use, does what it says and it leaves your skin feeling nourished and moisturized all day long] {Rating: 7/10}
22. Loreal Elvive Smooth & Polish Shampoo : £3.99 : Increase smoothness of your hair strand, makes it easier to style & more manageable while providing a silky touch to its texture. [My Experience: It lasts quite a while which is good, it helps with my fine hair, doesn't weight it down, makes it look silky , smooth and glossy & hydrating my hair too. Overall, its a great shampoo.] {Rating: 8/10}
23. Superdrug Hydrate & Shine Hair Mask : £3.99 : To provide hair with intense hydration & shine with no residue. [My Experience : Great as a conditioner, not so much as a hair mask. Texture is quite light so it isn't nourishing enough to be a hair mask but as a conditioner, it's a good one. Does hydrate & shine my hair as it says. Makes my hair polished & nourished. Worth trying.] {Rating: 7/10}.
So those are the products I've finished in the month of September.
Hope you enjoyed this post & hope the mini-reviews helped give you some insight to them too.
