Self Help : Confidence & My Inspiration.

Heyy,

Welcome back ! xD
Today I'd like to share with you , what makes me confident on a daily basis and who do I turn to - to boost my confidence when I'm feeling low.
I've got some of my favourite celebrities & people who I admire that makes me channel my innermost self & makes me embrace every inch of me. =]
Let's get right to it.

I was never confident growing up, in fact I was one of the most shy-est person & lowest self esteem person ever. With that, it made me even more conscious about who I am, and every little judgement made by others affected me more than it normally should. So growing up, it was difficult.
It affected me so much, to the point, I was telling myself 'well, maybe it's time I change myself so that I would fit in and finally have a group of friends I can be with' simply because, it was hard for me to make friends and people were just coming & going in and out of my life ... to the point that I got used to it.

--
At one point, I lost who I was. everything that's different about me compared to others, was a threat to me. It was something I wish I didn't have because it made me different then I started to blame myself for being different & questioning the things that I didn't have or why I couldn't do/have it. Not till one day, I sat down and think hard about why is my life this way ... that's when I start to listen to myself. I start to discover my true self & that's where I turned to these people, observed them and admire them for being who they are because they ignited something in me, that made me who I am today.

All of these celebs, have their own characteristics that I love about them & they are the ones who made me believe in myself and allow me to be 'okay' with my imperfections & insecurities. They made me realize,

'it's your insecurities that makes you different - special , so instead of amplifying how imperfect they are to you, learn to embrace the fact that no one else has that trait but you'.

and another thing I've learnt as well is that,

''Let your differences be your niche, let them make you stand out in a crowd".

So with that, let me show you some of them who stood out to me & why.

Blake Lively.

~¦» Known her from Gossip Girl - Love the fact she's been herself even when fame caught up to her, like her bubbly self, she knows what suits her best ( fashion & style ) , she doesn't need a lot of make up because she has a very natural look that's accentuates her features really well & she's confident.

~¦» What she taught me : To love my natural self more, To wear clothes that you feel comfortable in , and to basically rock the style that suits you best. You don't need to follow everyone to 'fit in' , just be yourself.

Sofia Boutella

~¦» Known as a dancer, she does nike adverts and she does hip hop, latin, and all other dances too. In terms of fitness & discipline, she's the first person that comes to my mind. I love how she portrays this strong, confident, discipline attitude that really admires me a lot.

~¦» What she taught me : Dont let others bring you down, if it's something you're passionate about - that should be enough to drive you to keep going till you get there. It's all about passion, consistency and discipline. She also taught me that life is all about competing with yourself, doing better than what you did yesterday .

Cara Delevingne

~¦» A victoria secret model, known to be bubbly, 'not caring about what anyone else thinks' kind of person, known for her thick eyebrows and her fierce gaze & confidence. I love how she can rock any look whether it's feminine or edgy. I love how she's got that edge that no one else has & she knows how to play her cards right each time.

~¦» What she taught me : It's okay to be different, and it's all about recognizing that within yourself and being confident about it. She also taught me to have more fun in life because life is short & sometimes being too serious, can be a little bit 'normal'. Lastly, she taught me to embrace our own quirkiness & weirdness because we're all human & we're not perfect .

Emma Watson

~¦» Known for her 'feminist' role in implying how women should be equally treated to man , known for her role in Harry Potter. What makes me love her is the fact that she knows what she wants & she fights for it no matter what people say. The fact that she wanted to cut her hair short and she did after the Harry Potter series ended was a major change but she rocked it really well goes to show , how she doesn't care what the media has to say about her. Secondly, the fact that she went to university to finish her degree despite how much money & fame she already has yet education meant something to her made me admire her even more.

~¦» What she taught me : To be confident & love who you are. She taught me to go after what I want & believe in myself . She inspires me to be graceful , feminine and determined in life.

Taylor Swift

~¦» Famous singer, famous role-model to most girls nowadays. She's someone who believed in herself , who went through a lot and turned those heartbreak moments into some really ground-breaking songs. She has a lot of experience in the love department that a lot of girls can relate & she's like elder sister who has your back no matter where you go.

~¦» What she taught me : No matter what people say about you, they're just words - it doesn't describe who you are unless you allow it to do so . She also taught me, that you're never alone in this world. Lastly, she taught me , if life doesn't give you what you want, you've got to have courage to make it yours. You've got to fight for it & you've got to work hard for it. Not to forget her fashion style, she pretty much is the whole package. =]

Hilary Duff.

~¦» Famous for being a Disney star in Lizzie Mcguire, A singer, an actress too! She's my childhood celebrity, someone who I admired since I was a kid and all through growing up, I would also say to myself 'what would hilary duff do'. =] She's pretty much my childhood idol. She's bubbly, fun, easygoing , knows what she wants & confident. She's one of only disney celebrities that has been innocent, been herself & hasn't allow fame to take over compared to others.

~¦» What she taught me : She taught me to believe in myself, she gives me confidence & courage to embrace who I am (the good & the bad) . Growing up with her, I wanted to look like her ( even my hairstyle and etc) , I was pretty much influenced by her and she made me look within myself , made me trust myself when I was going through tough times & discovering myself out. She's my inspiration for being bubbly, cheerful & just being grateful about everything that I have in my life.

So there it is, ermm.. I know it's not much but they all mean a lot to me. It's hard to fully describe how they've affected my life, but trust me, each one of them, inspired something in me that made me more confident today. I hope you found this post helpful & inspiring.

And looking back to all of them, I realized how different they all are yet they're beautiful & amazing in their own way.
So I'll end this post with this one quote,

Because that's what I realized today,
no matter how different we are.
We're pretty amazing already & that's including you.
-
And being confident comes with embracing who we are & loving every each inch of ourselves for it.

It's time to make your own brand - starting with yourself.
