Self Help : The key is to accept yourself.

Hey welcome back.

I've had a busy day today at work. The weather has been made all day too which doesn't help. Try imagining multi-tasking while someone's bugging you and piling more task for you to do all at that second for a good few hours? YEAH . I was about to burst.

Thankfully I didn't. So I'm back home now and I just feel so mad at myself today. I knew I should have acted better but all that stress was getting to me & trying to meet people's expectations at the same time was getting on my nerves. So when the clock striked 5pm, I couldn't wait to get out of there.

---

So here I am, after taking a few deep breaths, chilling my mind out - letting it all out , I finally feel more calm. To be honest, looking back onto today - everything was just as how it is everyday, its just that there were more customers, more workload & less patient customers around too that needed attention - so there's me trying to juggle all of that at once.  The worst part of it all was I blamed myself for it at the end of the day.

Because then I told myself, I could have done it better / acted better / we could have gotten more work together if I stayed calm & collected but NO - I freaked out!

The learning lesson is :

a) Don't panic. You did what you could & that's all there is to it. You're not expected to be your BEST every single day cause all you can be is all you can be.

b) Stressing out yourself with your mental checklist isn't going to make things more productive cause it'll only end up stressing YOU out. Instead, be in the present - solve one prob at a time.

c) You can't control others, Yes you work in a team, but you've also got to trust them to do their job. Checking up on them every second & bossing people around doesn't get the job done any faster, it just ruins people's mood even more.

d) Dont blame yourself for a bad day - there's too many factors that mostly aren't related to you that made the day terrible so don't blame yourself. Move past it.

e) Instead of being annoyed or mad that the job you set out to do today did not get completed because there were other important things to get done , try to make it a plan for tomorrow (Dont think too much about it )

I guess my point here being is that, we shouldn't blame our OWN self for something that could have created by soo many other factors like environment, other's daily mood, the task at hand and etc. The moment we realize that we can only do what we can with what we have is the moment, you realize...  you're doing the best you can

and no one can say anything when you're doing the best you can. =]

So stop blaming yourself, accept that you did all you could today, accept that it's not your fault if you had a rough customer or a rude one, and trust me when I say, don't take anything said at work PERSONALLY.

On the other hand, besides it being related to WORK - accepting yourself for who you are is the first step to know what you're capable of & how strong you are. Get comfortable with accepting yourself before you allow yourself to take on anymore life challenge.

Hmph, finally feels nice to get it all out. I hope you found this lil article helpful (wasn't sure whether it is but I hoipe it is :P) .  Thankfully I'm going out in a bit to have a nice meal with some friends to take my mind off today's stress.

I'll leave you with this thought.
When you accept yourself for who you are, no one can mentally bring you down .

Stay calm & always at peace,
G.
