Self Help : The only person you should compare yourself to is yourself.

Hi readers,
Welcome back. =]

Today's post is about comparing yourself to others (literally as the title says) and that's because I've been noticing and observing a lot lately how everyone around me is, and when you actually do that - you notice a lot of things.

One of the things I noticed is people easily comparing themselves to others and end up feeling bad for being themselves EITHER that or, they just feel really insecure about standing up for themselves

And you know what?
I get that .. but I also know, how unnecessary it is to feel that way & no one should feel 'limited' to be themselves just because of what other people think .

Here's 5 ways to why you should not compare yourself to other people.

1) It doesn't matter? As in .. comparing yourself to other people does not make you anymore superior or successful than what you already are. Instead it makes you look insecure because you feel threaten that others are better than you.

2) The only person you need compare yourself to is to the person you WERE yesterday. At the end of the day, there's no better satisfaction that being better than who you were yesterday or in the past.

3) If it doesn't make you feel any better -  why bring something so unnecessary to yourself?

4) What they have & what they've been through is something so different to us. Their journey and your journey in life is completely different, so comparing yourself to them is like comparing a dolphin to a whale - both are mammals but they're completely different.

5) It's only going to make you see the things you don't have - and it makes you constantly want more things so you could be 'better' than them but you will tend to forget all about being appreciative of what you already have .

The 5 Things I realized ever since I STOPPED comparing myself to others.

1) The most obvious was : I became someone much happier & grateful for who I am and everything that I have in my life

2) I started to believe in myself and achieved a lot more than I ever thought I could achieve.

3) I've noticed a great deal of confidence & self esteem that I've developed over the past few months and I gotta say it feels good when someone expects you to be mad but you aren't because you choose not to let it get to you?

4) Instead of blaming myself constantly , I became more gentler to myself. I started to love myself more which was something I found very hard to do before.

5) You eventually let go of things that stress you out, things that you're unhappy about & your world becomes a much happier place to live in.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I managed to become this new person just by listening to myself & giving myself the best chance I can to prove that I'm worth it.

And so I hope this little post inspired you to do the same.

Don't be afraid to stand for yourself. I think that's really admirable & strong to be able to do that.
And lastly,
I don't believe in the word : weird.

I think the word 'weird' is another way of saying : he/she is different & being different is a pretty good thing to be. So do what makes you happy & just be yourself. =]

Be at ease by just being you. <3

See you soon & take care,
G.
