Travel : Cambridge , England #2015

Helloooo , let's head to Cambridge!

Lets head back to Cambridge & to all its glory & historical goodness .

We went for 2 nights and we did a ton of things . It took us about 4 hours or so to finally get to Cambridge from where we were so we were soo hungry by then. After checking into our halls (yes we stayed in one of the colleges which gave us a more special touch to Cambridge - like we were from there ;)) we had tea.

at Fitzbillies - a nice lil place that serves one of best tea, scones & cakes.
Prices were reasonable & decor was very vintage, classic & traditional which ties in with Cambridge's vibe perfectly.

Then we had to do some sightseeing too <3 (Get ready for some pictures! ^^)

Corpus Clock - an amazing masterpiece to tell the time.

Next attraction - Cambridge COLLEGES - They're all pretty prestigious and beautifully made. There's 31 different colleges all over Cambridge & each have their own design, tradition & history behind them which makes them the prime attraction of this city.

Pembrook College

King's College.

The other main attraction/activity that you can do in Cambridge is to enjoy a nice walk around the River Cam or sit back & relax in a punt .

There's loads of companies that does them by the riverside. The price varies & you'll see loads of promoters trying to attract customers right outside King's College so just make you ask the right information such as the price, the times, the journey (where to where) and what sort of tour is it before you agree.

The one we went on was called Scudamores and it was late in the evening (just by sunset) and we got a good deal out of them . It was a nice relaxing way to end the evening before dinner. =]
While relaxing on the punt across the River Cam, he was telling us stories about the different colleges & seeing them with all its structural differences, it definitely was worth the money!

FOODDD wise - there's loads of restaurants, from cult classics to local cafes. You've got plenty of choices! I couldn't post all the pictures here so here's a picture of a really nice steak on one of the meals that we had =]

Next Day.

Because we stayed in one of the colleges- we get to experience freshly made, 'college style' breakfast in one of the hall that reminded me so much of Hogwarts from Harry Potter, with the long rectangle tables. <3

After fueling up, we went into the biggest college chapel in Cambridge - King's College
[Just a side note: For each college you enter, you do have to pay a fee to visit them but its worth ! ]

Amazinggg.

Then we went into St John's College as well which looks different to King's.

After all that walking - we headed back to the city & checked out their shopping scene
Had Krispy Kremes for supper , checked out Lush for some window shopping, checked out their library which is interesting cause it's in the mall & it's 2 floors (nerd alert! =P) , had boost juice , and etc!

Besides the mall, there's also high streets & markets which can interest you if you're looking for more local goodies OR if you need your typically high street stores like Waterstones, Boots, H&M, River Island, Topshop - they've got them all too!

Oh yeah we stumbled upon ChaTime too on one of the streets while we were in Cambridge and we both went cray-cray for it. #heaven :)

Anyways,
As you can see , Cambridge is a beautiful city to visit. It's expensive to stay but if you need a quick getaway for a whole new cultural experience - Cambridge is definitely one to visit!

Hope you enjoyed this lil post about this city
I know I did enjoyed visiting there & writing about it too

See you in my next post,

G.
