Self Help : How to get over self-sabotaging

Hey everyone,
Welcome back!

Today's post, is all about self-sabotaging. A topic that's widely seen around the world and in all ages. Even I'm one of the culprits for it (have to admit).  It's not easy to get out of it definitely but it's a huge relief the moment you realize you're a step forward away from it.

Self sabotaging is an event that happens where negative thoughts are being inflicted into the mind to reduce one's motivation, hopes & possibility in reaching a particular goal. The worst thing about self-sabotaging is that, the person does not consciously realize they are doing such things to themselves which results to them blaming themselves even more for having negative thoughts.
Hence, leading to depression in the long run.

It's definitely hard to get out of it but it's impossible. The first step to changing your mental state behavior is to 'realize' you're self sabotaging. Pay more attention to your thoughts & be more in control of what you think & what you allow to float in your mind.
Our mind is able to create both negative & positive thoughts every minute of everyday, but what you choose to amplify in your mind is up to you .

Here are some other ways to help you get over it

1.) No one knows the real you & your struggles but you
~ Being honest with yourself & accepting your flaws is one of the best things you can do for yourself. Whenever you have a problem that's bothering you, try to acknowledge the thought & analyze what caused it before thinking of the worst case scenario.

2.) The only one that can save you is you
After acknowledging & being more conscious about what you think about on a daily basis, what goes on in your head can only be fixed by you unfortunately because no one else can read you mind & no one can truly change your thoughts unless you give permission to do so. So it takes time but the more you do it, the better you become with handling your own thoughts.

3.) Learn to accept that you're not perfect & that's okay
Part of controlling your thoughts is loving who you are for what you have. You don't need to feel a certain way to be happy & you don't need things that others have but you don't to make you happy. What you really need to be happy is already around you if only you could spot the things that makes you feel happy. (i.e: feeling grateful) Imperfections are what makes a person unique & beautiful .

4.) Don't poke yourself with self pity
There'll be days where things just aren't going right & that's ok. The worst thing you can do to yourself is to make things worse by thinking you're not good enough or just literally hitting yourself down. When something bad happens, you always have two choices to make. ONE is to find ways to make you feel better and TWO is to dwell into the moment of how things could have been.

5.) Take charge of yourself
So all in all, taking charge of your thoughts will help shape you to feel a whole lot better. Don't feel guilty to take time off to do so , don't feel bad about putting yourself first.

You're just as important as everyone else
=)

Good luck & All the best,
G.
