Self Help : What you learn from being alone .

Hey everyone,
Welcome back ~

You know how society nowadays judges you for being alone, and somehow associates being alone with 'having problems'? Well here's my take on it.

First off, being alone doesn't mean you're lonely. Secondly, being alone sometimes can be a good thing. Imagine always being surrounded with people & not being able to do what you want to do because of having them constantly around you? Well being alone, gives you that instant freedom to worry about no one else but yourself :)

Obviously, being selfish / greedy is not what I meant but what I meant is being alone sometimes can make you sit with yourself allowing you to restructure your life plan & give you more clarity to what you want your life to be .

Not everyone is able to do that with people around i.e like me.. I'm that kind of person that needs to isolate myself in order to be on track on what I want to do & who I want to be before I go out to the world to achieve that.. I'm very much appreciate silence when I'm trying to make decisions and etc.

So if you're like me ..

Here is :

4 reasons why being alone is spiritually uplifting ?

1) You gain new perspective.

When we're away from our distractions, we are able to focus more on what we want out of life. Sometime we get caught up & over pressured on getting TO our goal that we forget to take a breath of fresh air to the point we overstress ourselves without realization. So by being alone, it gives time to breathe ... take in the moment .. & to re-analyze our thoughts & wants and in return, we gain new perspective over what we want in life.

2) It helps you focus

For some people like me, the more people around me , the more stress I get & the pressure I feel so when I am alone, it makes me feel relax & calm. So if you're seeing that you're not as productive with people around as you are alone, try being alone cause then you'll probably gain more focus & be twice as productive ;)

3) Helps you to recharge.

This kinda works unless you're an extrovert who gets energy from social activities then it's different but for the rest of us, being alone or being AWAY from the crowd AFTER a long day out or a long week with full on interactions, it feels nice. =) It makes you recharge your 'batteries' & help you de-stress before you go back to work & etc. Being alone, it gives you the chance to do anything you want. So in stressful times, if you want to binge watch a TV series - you can do so! If you want to do yoga or meditate - you can do so ! & having that time to yourself , I personally think is healthy.

4) It allows us to do what we want to do .

Many times if you're in a relationship or have a family, it's hard to go away to do the things you personally want to do because you tend to put their needs first (in most decisions) , and sometimes wanting to go away to do what you want may seem selfish or self-centered, so it's difficult in that situation but nevertheless, you still deserve time of day to actually focus on YOUR life too. So by having a good hour or 30 minutes so just focus on your goals in that day, then at least you wouldn't feel left out or feel any regrets on a daily basis.

So I hope these 4 little messages made you feel less guilty about wanting to find time to be just with yourself?
I personally think it's important to be connected with ourselves , to be aware of what our body needs, how to take care of it & etc.. I think it's as important as exercising. Sometimes we're so focused on the physical health that we forget the needs to maintain a healthy mental state of mind too.

I hope this post inspired you to take some time off to just chill & relax
before you go to bed tonight.

Take care,
See you in my next one
G.
