Travel : Isle of Wight #2016

Hey everyone,
Welcome back!

I figured it's time to update you all on my adventure on the Isle of Wight. Have you been there? If you haven't , well - it's part of England & it's located an hour away from Southampton through a ferry across the channel.

It's an island that has beautiful beaches as well as the balance of wonderful countryside , with a population of 140,000 people.

Tbh, it's a wonderful place to visit on holiday - the island thrives on tourist each year especially during the summer months. So if you're nearby, definitely check it out.

Here are some my of tips & tricks for getting around the island & best places to see :)

Travelling there : Southampton [ Red Funnel Car Ferry (45 mins) / Red Jet High Speed Service (25 mins) ]
Portsmouth [ Car Ferry (45 mins) / Hovercraft (10 mins) ]

x Those are my top favourite places to visit:

In terms of beaches
1.) Freshwater Bay, Freshwater
2.) Compton Bay, Freshwater
3.) Colwell Bay, Totland
4.) Sandown Beach, Sandown
5.) Appley Beach, Ryde

In terms of attractions:
1.) Osborne House
2.) The Needles
3.) Shanklin town
4.) Ventnor Botanical Gardens
5.) Round the island bus (stunning views)

In terms of food:
1.) Steak in Foggs, Ventnor
2.) The Lifeboat, East Cowes
3.) Olivo, Newport
4.) The Bandstand , Sandown
5.) The Gossips Cafe, Yarmouth.

In terms of food, there's quite a number of places to eat depending on what you're into  but my favourite ultimate place for environment & food has got to be The Waterfront, Freshwater . When the weather is great & clear, the views are stunning and food are not too bad either.

Anyways, let's get right into it.

In terms of places to visit, if you're into nature - there's loads of walks to do & if you're into photography, landscape photography is pretty great especially during sunset periods. However, it is an island so bear in mind - if you're into city lifestyle (i.e nightlife) , there isn't much to do in that perspective.

Here are some of my pictures that I've taken whilst on my trip there.
Hope you enjoy ~

Yeah, it's been a real pleasure being there - enjoying all the sights , meeting the great friendly people and making my stay there one of a kind. =)

Wouldn't forget it for the world, and if you ever get a chance to go there, please do.
It's a great getaway from the mainland of UK & a great experience towards island living.

If you got any questions, don't hesitate to ask ,
I'll be here to answer any of your questions ,
Hoped you enjoyed this post like I've enjoyed visiting there,
G.
