Connecting with your inner self

Hey everyone,
Welcome back!

I hope you've been well. As I'm recovering post op, I am getting better which is πŸ‘ so I'm back with more newer post to share with you today. As I've learned from November 2018 till now when I was dealing with my health issue, life has taken me down a path I've never been before.

From realizing what really mattered to challenging me to go out my comfort zone - it's amazing how beautiful life is πŸŒΊ . Life can be so unpredictable but at the same time, somehow makes everything align. I did loads of reflection during this whole journey and the most important lesson I learnt was how important connecting with my inner self is.

πŸ“Œ I've realized how much time I have focused on what others think of me and pushing away my thoughts and feelings. During this whole journey, I put more pressure on myself by taking on more things that I could - by trying to prove people wrong and by making myself as second priority. Despite what was going on, I've had people close to me that reminded me how I need to take care of myself mentally and physically which leads me to the next point.

πŸ“Œ Self love is really important.I then decided to take more into account what I wanted to do, how I was feeling and listen to myself more which not only helped calmed me down pre-op but also, it made me appreciate what I have and be more mindful. Self love involves various things from treating yourself ,to not blaming yourself and just being kind to your inner self.

πŸ“ŒWhen it comes to treating yourself, you have no idea the amount of times I told myself - 'right,I'm going shopping. I need to browse, I need to get new shoes...OMG sale' - YEAH 🀦‍♀️, doesn't help with Christmas sale & boxing day sale happening at the same time. I ended up spending so much during the month of December to compensate my shopping period in January cause of recovery πŸ›️ πŸ˜‰ but you know what? It helped - its my form of self love. I've discovered new styles of clothes for me, I discovered new ways to love my body and new activities that I enjoy doing which is what connecting with your inner self is all about.

πŸ“Œ Knowing your worth is part of being confident with who you are. Learning to smile and find happiness during down times is a sign of courage and optimism which shows you respect yourself of what you are currently going through but nevertheless, I'm going to enjoy this moment - enjoy today cause it feels right for me πŸ˜Š .When you are in a place whereby you don't need any external influence to make you feel any better, that's when you know what you deserve and what you want . I learnt that when I realized I don't need everyone supporting me or caring for me - I just need the ones that matter most to me & that's more than enough.

πŸ“ŒLast but not least, when it comes to connecting with your inner self - do it with a pinch of salt. Talk to yourself like you would in front of a mirror or when you talk to the camera during a vlog. Be who you are , and don't lose any of that spark πŸŽ‡ . Be your own best friend and believe that no matter what happens in life, every scar or every turn has become a chapter of a new adventure in your story book .

So don't give up when life changes perspective or direction for you - it's unpredictable for a good reason and so I hope this post has inspired you to reflect on your inner self and love every part of it because you know what - πŸ˜Ž why not?

Take care everyone and I look forward to seeing you in my next post,
G
