Self Help: My simple everyday self care routine

Hey everyone,
Welcome back.

I've got a short and sweet post about my daily self care routine. It's something I'm trying to incorporate into my daily routine after work so it's work in progress but I hope it helps remind you the importance of taking the time for yourself to nourish and listen to your body & mind before the day ends.

These tips run with the same headline which is 'do what fuels your body to feel happy'. Whether it's with exercise, eating, socializing, journalling, watching TV, reading - you do you. No matter what it is, there's no judgement here so long you know what makes you feel relaxed and can help you forget about your daily stress, then you're on right track.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

For me, here are some of the things I have to do after I come home from a long day of work.

1) Take a shower/bath.
The joys of taking a warm shower after a stressful day at work. It's like washing off the tension. It feels amazing and refreshing. It's a good transition from work to home life.

2) Have a nice heart warming meal for dinner
Nothing like a good home cook meal for dinner to help bring comfort & warmth back into my day after a long day dealing with work. Whether you're eating on your own or with someone, it's nice to cook something and have it at the end of the day

3)Do something active.
Whether it's something mentally active or physically active, it helps. You could perhaps do some journalling  or creative writing or even go to the gym. By being active in this way, it helps you give back time to yourself and the reward, is that it makes you feel more self-fulfilled & that helps with stress.

4)Invest in winding down.
No more shortcuts and no fast route to winding down at the end of the day. The best way to wind down is to enjoy the transition and to be present every second on. You can't force yourself to wind down so you've got to listen to what your body needs after a long day and just relax. Your winding down process should involve investing and nurturing your mind, body & soul. For example, a pamper routine or reading a good book.

So these are the 4 things that I would recommend to incorporate into your daily routine as part of your self care/winding down process after a long day at work. The last thing you need to do is to thing about more work. So do what works for you & I hope this post has inspired you to enjoy your winding down process.

See you in my next one,
have a great day,
G
