Self Help: How to create and set boundaries in your life

Image
Hey everyone, Welcome back! The best quote to describe having boundaries is 'If you don't stand for something, you will fall for anything' by Alexander Hamilton. Speaking of Hamilton, have you all seen the musical live on Netflix? It's so amazing. The songs, acting and the costumes were stunning. Definitely recommend! Anyways, back to the post. :)  There are the obvious boundaries that we are all aware, like for example when you're insulting someone in public, or when you talked about a controversial topic in public, these are the obvious boundaries that we are aware of. However, this post is about your own personal boundaries and what you allow people to say about you.  As we get older, you tend to discover what you like, dislike and your personal preferences to everything in life, the problem arises when someone confronts or challenges you about those things, how do you stand up for yourself during those times. So here are some ways that could help be more asserti...

Happy New Year - End of 2020, Beginning of 2021.

Hi everyone, Welcome back! Happy New Year! I hope you had a cozy warm celebration at home, I think most of us had. Anyways, 2020 has been really rough and I do hope 2021 will bring us all better times. I would like to dedicate this post to those who lost someone this year, who was working throughout the lockdown and for everyone who faced hardships this year. The end of the tunnel may seem far away but we must not lose hope . It's important to realize that a little goes a long way. If we keep ourselves safe, we also protect those that we come across everyday safe . It forms this domino effect that will eventually end this pandemic. So, let's all have some hope, be kind and keep ourselves safe.  With that being said, let's move to today's post. We are now back in lockdown again in the UK. Either in Tier 3 or Tier 4, we are under lockdown rules, once again. As devastating and depressing Christmas was in 2020, we ring in the New Year with another quiet celebration. To be...

Self help: Making decisions for youself

Image
Hey everyone, Welcome back!  Today's post is about decision making. This is something I have a lot of experience with and it took me a long time to come out of my shell. I know it may sound silly, 'not knowing how to make the right decisions' but at the end of the day, speaking from personal experience, I found it very hard to change my perspective on it, especially if you're someone who is shy/timid or have been labelled by a lot of negative connotations.  When you are in that state of mind, it is very difficult to snap out of it, cause your brain defaults whenever you face similar situation. In terms of making decisions, if you're someone that has not got the chance to choose & decide since young, it is completely normal to be where you are today which brings me to share with you ways to empower you to make more of your OWN decisions and be okay with it.  1) Trust yourself .  Yes, you've heard this line loads. Trusting someone is hard enough, but trusting...

Self Help: 5 hard truths I learnt in my 20s

Image
Hey everyone, Welcome back! Today I'm going to reflect on my 20s and see how things have changed, what I have learnt and I hope this can help you not go through some of the things I did. Let's get reflecting! A little disclaimer before I begin. I am writing this when I'm 29 years old and yes, I'm still in my 20s but a lot has happened especially in my early 20s that has allowed me to grow to who I am today and this post, is dedicated to acknowledging those things that I went through. Let's begin. Thi ngs I lea rnt i n my 20s . 1) Knowing yourself and standing up for yourself is vital. This was the biggest struggle for me. Going through high school up to university, I was known to be generous to the point I became a doormat. Everytime I would try to pull outself out of that mentality, I just felt guilt so I resulted in being a doormat for a really long time. As I got older and slowly question why do I allow these people to run my life, I started to pull back and it...

Say HI to 2020!

Image
Hey everyone, It's been a long long time, Let me begin again by saying hey, how are you? Hope you're doing well! Welcome to 2020!  Gosh time flew so quick in 2019, before I knew it- it was over! There are a couple of things I've learnt in 2019 that I would like to change in 2020. Here are a couple of them. 1) Pay more attention to the time I have left before it's gone. 2) Be more productive in what I do, daily. 3) Have a plan or an aim each month to work towards 4) Stay connected with my friends 5) Be more discipline  6) Listen & trust myself more. As you can see, the trend here is to use my time more efficiently. That was something I did not fully apply in 2019 which is why I felt the year went really quick and nothing much has changed. In fact, I felt like 2019 - I procrastinated so much that I have wasted days and nights doing absolutely nothing but watching Netflix.  Well, I need to change that habit! I know it's alrea...

Self Help: My simple everyday self care routine

Image
Hey everyone, Welcome back. I've got a short and sweet post about my daily self care routine. It's something I'm trying to incorporate into my daily routine after work so it's work in progress but I hope it helps remind you the importance of taking the time for yourself to nourish and listen to your body & mind before the day ends. These tips run with the same headline which is 'do what fuels your body to feel happy'. Whether it's with exercise, eating, socializing, journalling, watching TV, reading - you do you. No matter what it is, there's no judgement here so long you know what makes you feel relaxed and can help you forget about your daily stress, then you're on right track. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- For me, here are some of the things I have to do after I come home from a long day of work. 1) Take a shower/bath.  The...

Travel to: Split, Croatia 2019

Image
Hi everyone, welcome back! It's been a while. Well a good 9 months break shall we say from blogging. To be honest, I lost my blogging mojo which was why I did not blog for such a long time. The effort it takes to plan a blogpost, get the right pictures, edit them, write the post & make sure it's posted and share it appropriately, was taking up too much of my time on top of my full time job that I do daily so I do apologize for being MIA for so long. BUT I AM BACK.😃 I would like to get back into blogging  as I realize I've missed letting my creative juices flow every once in a while. So I may not post very often for now, but I will keep you updated on my socials when I do. =)  -------------------------------------------------------------- As for today, let's start with a lovely post about my first time to Croatia 💕 We were there for 4 days and we decided to just explore Split instead of visiting Dubrovnik. We decided to visit somewhere less ...

Connecting with your inner self

Image
Hey everyone, Welcome back! I hope you've been well. As I'm recovering post op, I am getting better which is 👍 so I'm back with more newer post to share with you today. As I've learned from November 2018 till now when I was dealing with my health issue, life has taken me down a path I've never been before.  From realizing what really mattered to challenging me to go out my comfort zone - it's amazing how beautiful life is 🌺 . Life can be so unpredictable but at the same time, somehow makes everything align. I did loads of reflection during this whole journey and the most important lesson I learnt was how important connecting with my inner self is.  📌 I've realized how much time I have focused on what others think of me and pushing away my thoughts and feelings. During this whole journey, I put more pressure on myself by taking on more things that I could - by trying to prove people wrong and by making myself as second priority. Despite w...

Beauty : Mini essie nail polish haul

Image
Hey everyone, Welcome back. I got a quick post here for you today. I haven't been painting my nails a lot for a long time now and to get me back to loving them again, I decided to gain some nail inspiration from Pinterest and I saw these images on there . 💅 Angora Cardi     💅 Hear me aurora I found these two shades on there and just instantly fell in love. It's the perfect shade for me during this fall/winter time. So I decided to go out to Boots the other day to get them. I must say, nothing screams winter like new nail polishes that reminds me of this festive/winter season.  Essie nail polishes comes for a fixed price at 7.99 pounds each . I already owned a few of essie nail polishes from their light shades to more opaque shades and they are amazing 😍 . The brush allows you to coat the nail with a few strokes and with minimal bleed.  On top of that, unlike some brand of nail polishes, I find with essie's - there is no nee...

Stop making life as a competition

Image
Hey everyone, Welcome back. Hope you are having a good week so far, today this post is about how we need to take more time to slow down & to accept that life is not a competition. Not everyday do we remind ourselves to just relax & enjoy the time we have today - we end up moving forward constantly without looking back.  This post, I am going to take a moment to slow things down & just appreciate what I have. I would you to do the same. Just take 10 seconds, close your eyes & just be grateful . GREAT =) Now let's get on with the post about enjoying life as a journey rather than a competition. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- First, I'd like to share that success is not only measured by wealth but in many different ways & it is defined personally by each individual what they think of the word 'success'. For example, let's say you think being success...
